Hey, White People: A Journey
Join us on Saturday, May 21st at 8 am for a Pilgrimage
from the MN State Capitol to George Floyd Square
“Hey, White People!” is about the journey it takes to move through the stages of self-reflection regarding white privilege and white resentment. It is about a journey to understand meaningful and effective actions that contribute to dismantling systemic racism, and using a different set of tools to rebuild a society with profoundly different values. It is a journey that does not shy away from introspection, radical self honesty and acceptance, or the complicity and grief that we white people must work through in order to heal, in order to make lasting change.

Contemplation
At the center of the journey is the opportunity for contemplation through the act of pilgrimage. We walk a nine-mile route from St. Paul, MN to George Floyd Square, a place made sacred by those who will not let the violence of May 25, 2020 ever be forgotten. Each mile representing each minute that George Floyd was held to the ground, without mercy, until his death.
